Ricky von Steinbach is a handsome 9 month old sable German Shepherd. He still has that lanky, lean teenage body of a young shepherd, and will be medium in size, around 65-70 pounds once he's fully grown and filled out. He is such a sweetie pie, you can see from his pictures what a nice dog he is. He gets along with other dogs and becomes attached very quickly to his humans. Sable shepherds are bred for work in Germany and their coloring definitely has a following, like our volunteer who transported him. She thinks sable shepherds are the most beautiful, although many people are still unfamiliar with the color. Think police dogs: a large number of them are sables. Ricky is not planning on becoming a police dog though, he'd rather have a family to hang out with, play with and walk with. We think he will be an excellent addition to any family.
